beta beta bo beta banana fanna fo feta
Alrighty, hitting up my loverly flist first because I trust!

I need a quick beta for my spn_summergen offering. I'm looking for whatever advice can be spared; my skin is elephant-hide caliber so you won't hurt my feelings, probably even if you tried. Grammar nazis welcomed. Also, the end is a little saggy so any suggestions there are a-okay. Hell, ALL suggestions are shown much love!

Wordcount: ~2,850
Characters: Lisa, Ben, Matt, Sam, Dean, the Impala ;)

If no one has time, s'all good. I'm crunched myself, what with my much-publicized computer woes. Thanks, my supahstars!

I would love to beta this. Also, I am something of a grammar Nazi.

You can email me the doc at fannishliss at gmail. :)

Let me know your deadline!

*does a happy dance!* I'll pop it through the internet aether right now. Due date isn't until July 1 so there's lots of wiggle room. (I'm behind in my GenBigBang so I wanted to get SummerGen off my plate.) Thanks SO much!

Hey, I can use all the opinions I can get! I'm especially keen on honing the emotional impact of the piece. Where can I send it?

I'm always available to you, BB. Anytime. ^_^

Be careful what you ask for; I still don't have a beta for my GenBigBang... *sneaky eyes*

Your writing is really actually fun to beta so as I said -- hit me up anytime. You've got my number (or email - whatev). :D

*squeeee!* Awesomepie, a la mode. :D

Question, along those lines: would you rather get the BigBang piecemeal or in one great lump? I've got very little accomplished thus far, but I'm about to really get revved up on it. I want to make this as beta-friendly on you as I can!

I actually have no preference. It all depends on the level of reviewing you're looking for, I guess.

A little at a time will usually get me to give more input, but if there's a twisty, cliffhanger type plot, I find it's better to get it all in one go so I'm not constantly asking for more clarification on things that are just waiting to be revealed in the next chapter.

(...if that makes sense. It's been a long, long day. Last day of school tomorrow. /0\ Just *one year* with a kid in school and I have no idea how I'm gonna survive the summer with them both. Now I understand the whole "Most Wonderful Time" song they play when it's back-to-school time.)

Basically, I'm good with whatever you're comfortable with. I know I sometimes go running to my beta before I'm even finished with a chapter. ^_^;; gchat - heardtheowl

It's likely to get a little bendy, it being case!fic, but I'm only SO smart; it won't be 'Inception' caliber confusing. Not on purpose, anyway! Maybe I'll send the thing in three-chapter chunks?

And I know darned well I'll be needing plot advice as I get deeper into this. I've got an outline, but it may be chock full of stupid when it all shakes out.

I have three kids home for the summer myself: boys, ages 9, 11, 13. I feel your pain! We'll be spending a LOT of time at the pool. I can write there AND score a tan.

Thanks again for all your generosity! I was so lucky to stumble into you. :D

I am also available for beta-ing!

Huzzah! I might bounce some BigBang ideas off you, as I get into it. I need to work on pumping more emotional involvement into my work. Thanks tons for the offer!

Sounds good. I will pm you the email address.

How go the computer woes? Any progress?

Slowly chugging along. The video card/monitor situation still needs tweaking and/or drivers, which is pretty much a mystery to me. So art is still on hold but writing is GO! Sucks to have lost so much time but at least I didn't lose work.

Glad to hear you didn't lose any work! That is most important.
